4 Reasons to Give Into Your Cravings…Sometimes

Do you ever have cravings? They could be for chocolate, cakes or even just a general craving. Sometimes, you just need to give into them. Anything in moderation is fine.

The problem is that so many diets have made people think certain foods are bad. Yes, in general, a lot of sugar is bad for your overall health. But one piece of chocolate a day is not going to do you any harm. If it did, everyone would drop dead, right?

This doesn’t mean give into every single craving you have. You can’t just eat a whole pack of biscuits because you really wanted them.

Here are four reasons to give in to your cravings…sometimes.

It Stops the Cravings

Giving in will actually stop the cravings. That’s a good thing, right?

When you crave something and tell yourself more, you just want it more and more. It will get to the point where you just binge on that one thing. And you will completely blow your diet.

By giving in now and then, your body no longer craves certain foods. Psychologically, you know you’re allowed everything now and then. So your body will be satisfied with that.

If you don’t want something right now, but crave it. Tell yourself you can have it later.

Keep Yourself Motivated

How do you feel when you tell yourself no? Do you start to resent the diet that you’re on? You will do if you consistently tell yourself no.

Sometimes you just need to say yes. You’re reiterating that you nothing is banned. It’s all about having a healthy and balanced diet. The keyword there is the balanced part!

When you’re motivated, you will find it easier to lose weight. If you do see a gain, you will be less likely to fall off the wagon believing that this diet just isn’t working. There are plenty of other reasons for a weight gain.

Give Your Mood a Boost

Telling yourself yes will also give your mood a boost. The more you say no, the more you start to resent yourself.

By being in a good mood, you’re actually more likely to make better choices. You’ll find that saying yes but only one is much easier. Having a smaller portion is easier to do, because you’re happier in yourself. You don’t really want to blow the diet.

You Teach Yourself Good Habits

Don’t think of it as giving in. This is actually teaching yourself some of the best habits for the rest of your life. You’re learning about portion control, easing your cravings, and handling your treats.

You need a diet that is liveable. And saying yes to treats now and then makes it liveable.

By being something you can fit into your day to day life, you are more likely to stay on track for the rest of your life. You won’t gain all that weight again, or resent the fact that you can never have a certain food again.

Just think about how much happier you will be by giving into your cravings. You can’t do it all the time, but every now and then won’t hurt. Teach yourself portion control and moderation, and you have a healthy eating plan that you can stick to forever.
