It’s Time to Stop Making Weight Loss Excuses

Your weight loss excuses are holding you back. You know it’s the truth, but you can’t seem to stop making them.

Did you know that September is a lot like January? It’s a time for people to start making resolutions because they know the holiday season will be here before they know it. The problem with resolutions is they tend to get broke because of all the excuses.

We don’t have time
There’s more important stuff to focus on
Life is just too damn difficult

Whatever our excuses are, they’re holding us back. So, I want us all to make a commitment to stop making weight loss excuses. I want us to start finding a way around the excuses—push ourselves to take steps forward.

What can we do? Well, here are a few ways around those excuses.

Look at the Things We Can Do

The excuses are always negative. They give us a reason not to do something. So, it’s time to look at the positives: what can we do?

Every time you think of an excuse to go off track or not really focus on you, look at the things that you can do to help yourself. It could be batch cooking on your day off work to make sure you’re prepared or you may decide that food pics are the way to go to help keep a food diary.

You’ll know what works better for you.

Trust me, I know you’re busy. There are times that you just can’t fit everything in. I’m not asking you to be Wonder Woman. I’m asking you to make some time for yourself and put you first at least once a day.

Make Sure Others Are Aware

When you make a commitment to lose weight, don’t just make yourself aware. Make sure others know what you’re doing and ask them to help you.

If people don’t know then they can’t help. They won’t realize that constantly offering you cakes and biscuits when you visit is causing problems. They don’t know they’re being saboteurs.  When they are aware and they offer without thinking, you can explain that it’s making it difficult for you to lose weight.

You can make people aware in various ways. Tell them through successes on social media or discuss things with them in person. You don’t need to get into the details why: just tell them what you’re doing and that you’d really appreciate their help to avoid the excuses.

Remind Yourself Why You’re Doing It

Weight loss is difficult. If it was easy we’d all be thin all the time, right?

The problem is it gets difficult and we start to make excuses. We lose sight of our weight loss goals. When you find the excuses creeping up, you need to remind yourself why you’re doing it. Look back at the goals and what you’re losing weight for. Give yourself that push and decide whether your reasons are important to you still.

You may find that your goals have changed. You may had different opinions on what you want to achieve and why you’re doing it. Making these changes can help you stop making weight loss excuses.

Are you ready to grasp your life with both hands and aim for success? Are you ready to give up the weight loss excuses and start focusing on what you can do? I am!
